Watch story

Only a recent return to watch enthusiasm. I was given a great Omega 30 years ago but let it languish in the top drawer for most of my adult life as I didn't really understand the brand or the quality. After discovering the channel and getting drawn into the horology world again I have resurrected the old seamaster and also an old Seiko (also a gift) with new batteries and they both keep excellent time after all these years (quartz movements both). After seeing TGV's affordable diver shootout I also got my first automatic, which of course is the SKX but as I have a small wrist and also because my other watches are from the 'smaller' era it is the 013 so as to keep the collection similarly sized. I've also bought a first gift watch for my wife (a Hamilton) and hope to share this hobby with her. Of course she already has a fitbit but honestly there's not much style or heritage in it. I'd like to think of our watches as 'our' collection rather than a 'his and her's' if that makes sense. As soon as I give it to her, I'll put it in the collection (xmas 2017 present!) .
